WordPress Upgrade *May* Break CataBlog

EDIT

It seems that some people are using CataBlog fine in WordPress 4, while I think others have had problems. I would suggest testing CataBlog with any future versions of WordPress and or your Theme before upgrading your "live site". The best way to do this is with a backup run locally on your own computer.

The new WordPress upgrade broke CataBlog, please do NOT update to WordPress 4.0 if you need to keep using CataBlog. I will look into the problem as soon as I can, but since it is freeware and I need to concentrate on my paying job, I won't be able to tell you how long until it is fixed.

Thanks again everyone for your patience and support of CataBlog, cheers!

First of all, let me thank you for making the most useful plug-in I’ve downloaded to date. I do see that the selection check box is missing in my library when I go to try to add a new blog post and photo to a category. Is this what you mean when you say it is broken? I hope you find time to repair it.. I think if you charged people a small fee for using your plug-in they wouldn’t mind:)

I’m currently using WP 4.0 and CataBlog 1.6.5 without any obvious problems, so I’m not quite sure what the problems might be.

Any chance of getting SEO on the catablog-items such as Title and Description?

    Hi!

We are on WP 4.0 and CataBlog 1.6.5. So, we are in trouble.

The problem: CataBlog does not display a duly inserted new element in an existing gallery. This means that we are not able to update our web which heavily leans on CataBlog functions. Help!

As the problem is known for some months now we wish Zach some holidays as soon as possible….

    Kind regards,
    Tone

Hi Tone, as you’ll soon see, I’ve been testing CataBlog 1.6.5 in WordPress 4.0.1 and so far everything is working fine. I’m curious if you have tried to make a new Gallery? Perhaps your old one got corrupted some way that is unrelated to the WordPress update. Just some food for though, let me know if you still need help, thanks and sorry for the delay.

      • Tone says:

        Hi Zach,
We followed your advice and re-created a gallery. Unfortunately the problem persists. The galleries show up correctly the OLD elements (created back in June or earlier), while the newly created elements appear in the gallery list, but do not show up on the page.
So it seems like the elements are not created as they should.
Any other idea how to cope with it?
